TargetCW Community
Community/Charitable Works : TargetCW supports charitable donations and works from our internal employees and our clients' payrollees. We believe in assisting great causes and pledge to donate a portion of our profits every quarter to various non-profit organizations. To the left is a list of the amazing organizations we've supported to-date. Another program started by TargetCW aims to involve our employees and payrollees through Giving Together. Susan G Komen
TargetCW is a proud sponsor of Susan G Komen for the Cure, the world’s largest non-profit network. The Susan G. Komen foundation has invested nearly 1.5 billion to its cause since their inception in 1982. For the past two years, TargetCW has set up a sponsorship booth at the Komen Race for the Cure in San Diego. This amazing and important event raises funds for breast cancer outreach, education, and research in San Diego County. We highly encourage everyone to join us in helping Susan G. Komen for the Cure keep their promise of ending breast cancer forever. Project Safe House
Each year, we send a small and short term missions team to Mae Sot, Thailand to help Compasio International encourage and serve Burmese Refugees in Northern Thailand. Compasio's primary efforts go to protecting refugee children against sex trafficking. San Diego Rescue Mission
TargetCW is proud to contribute to SDRM's effort to rehabilitate, disciple, and improve the quality of life for individuals and families affected by poverty, addiction, abuse, and homelessness in San Diego. They provide an opportunity for those in need to take control of their lives, find a new level of stability, and return to their communities as fulfilled, contributing members of society. Mexico House Building
Join us as we partner with Amor Ministries in their travels to Tijuana Mexico to build homes for impoverished families as they are connected with a local church, and long-term support in their local communities. Cure
Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy is a nonprofit organization dedicated to finding a cure for epilepsy by raising funds for research and by increasing awareness of the prevalence and devastation of this disease. CURE has had a big impact on one of our employees' family, and we are proud to contribute to this amazing organization. American Red Cross
Since its founding in 1881 by visionary leader Clara Barton, the American Red Cross has been the nation's premier emergency response organization. As part of a worldwide movement that offers neutral humanitarian care to the victims of war, the American Red Cross distinguishes itself by also aiding victims of devastating natural disasters. TargetCW matches our employee’s donations to all 501(c) nonprofit organizations, but we made a special effort to help those affected by the devastating tsunami and earthquake that hit Japan in March 2011. We are touched by our employee’s donations and the amazing work America Red Cross does for victims of natural disasters. Wikipedia
Wikipedia is a free, web-based, collaborative, multilingual encyclopedia project supported by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation. Its 20 million articles (over 3.77 million in English) have been written collaboratively by volunteers around the world. Almost all of its articles can be edited by anyone with access to the site, and it has about 90,000 regularly active contributors. As of July 2011, there are editions of Wikipedia in 282 languages. It has become the largest and most popular general reference work on the Internet. Here at TargetCW, we felt compelled to make a monthly contribution to the Wikipedia Foundation because we constantly find ourselves reading, learning, and fact checking on this wonderful resource. Children of the Nations
Children of the Nations (COTN) is a movement of people committed to a single vision, Raising Children Who Transform Nations. This God-given vision directs their passion for seeing children and their nations transformed. By focusing on each most desperate child and their needs, COTN has built a mission in each country in which they work. TargetCW sponsors ten children in Malawi, located in southeast Africa. Each child is given a monthly contribution to provide for education, medical care, daily nutrition, and more. Each child is also assigned a pen pal, communicating via letters multiple times a year. Eastern Pacific Hawksbill Initiative
TargetCW is a proud sponsor of the Eastern Pacific Hawksbill Initiative (ICAPO), which was established in 2008 to promote the recovery of the critically endangered hawksbill sea turtle in the Eastern Pacific. Comprised of experts in the field of sea turtle conservation from Peru to U.S.; their mission is to protect, recover, conduct research, and raise awareness by way of numerous conservation projects. Hawksbill sea turtles are on the endangered species list as a result of human consumption and sale. Their brilliantly colored shell makes them a highly valuable target black market sales. Coupled with an increase in the contamination of their habitat and food source, disappearance of beach nesting areas, and the entanglement in commercial fishery nets; hawksbill sea turtles are one of the most highly susceptible species of sea turtle to become extinct. Their populations have diminished to a point where most sea turtle scientists thought them to be extinct in the Eastern Pacific. Through the Eastern Pacific Hawksbill Initiative, efforts are being made to ensure the survival of hawksbill sea turtles in the Eastern Pacific and the rest of the world. TargetCW’s monthly contribution serves to support the hatching of 200 hawksbill sea turtle eggs. Check out their article in the San Diego Tribune. Trees for the Future
In addition to our paperless onboarding and wind-powered website, we have partnered with Trees for the Future to plant a tree for every new employee that we add on to our payroll. Trees for the Future have been helping communities around the world plant trees since 1989. We have already planted approximately 2,500 trees and don’t plan on stopping! Each of TargetCW’s trees will be planted in Brazil, Ghana or Honduras depending on the need. Planting trees protects the environment and helps to preserve traditional livelihoods and cultures for generations. We take environmental consciousness seriously and are taking one more step towards a cleaner and greener tomorrow. |
